I consider photographing someone to be quite an unusual thing.  It’s mostly always an intimate affair… at least my favourite sessions are.  Being let into ones home, life, family. Documenting those tiny moments that all together make up the story of your life.

those tiny moments for me are, most often,  spending my days with my 5, 3 and 1 year old…  this often involves endless tea parties, trips to the park, washing, cleaning, reading stories, building towers, sweeping floors, wiping snotty noses, drying tears and having lounge room dance parties.  I love this.

…every morning of my married life my husband has bought me coffee as I wake up. Every. single. morning.  I love that too.

I’d love to tell your story.  Your family’s story or your love story.  Not in a studio with bright lights… but where you are comfortable.  In your home, your backyard, your park, your beach… your special place. I would love to narrate those tiny moments in your life. In images.

I’m available to do this in the Darling Downs, Brisbane and surrounding areas…. shoot me an email and tell me a little of your story…

Charlotte - Hi Samara
I hope you don’t mind me emailing – or think it is a little weird! I’m a writer living in London. I’m half Aussie (but born in London) and we are looking to come out to Sydney next year possibly to live. I was reading a post that Jodi of Practising Simplicity wrote and saw a comment on there from you. I then though maybe you’d be a good person to ask for advice. I have lived in Sydney before but always in North Bondi (I know, how obvious) so this time we are maybe looking for something different. We are a young family (we have a 4 year old son) but being from London we would still like to be around a bit of happening culture – galleries, nice stores, coffee shops etc – so we are looking for an area that is still kind of cool for adults but also fun for kids, and not crazily expensive. We are still thinking about North Bondi, or Bronte maybe, but also we were thinking about the inner west suburbs – Summer Hill, Annandale, Marickville etc. If and when you had time any advice on some nice areas would be so much appreciated. And finally, the central coast is also on our radar, maybe Terrigal / Avoca, any thoughts on that?
Thanks so much in advance!
