Brisbane Wedding Photographer | George and Crystal {slideshow}

A few weeks ago I shot George and Crystal’s Wedding…  I gave you a little sneak peek of this beautiful couple, and have been really keen to show you a bit more!
It was a really moving day for me – at least, more so than usual…  You see, I’ve known Crystal since we were teenagers and really had to hold back the tears as she walked down the aisle with her dad… seriously!

It was so special to be part of the day, and all the more enjoyable to document, with both George and Crystal being so relaxed throughout.  Thanks for letting me be a part of it guys!

The slideshow tells the story of the day in brief – just another peek really…  The song is “Falling Slowly” by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova – George, Crystal and Best Man Adam sang it together at the afternoon tea after the ceremony… yes, I know, a good-looking AND talented couple! : )

I also have to say, that one of the most enjoyable things about the day was shooting with my lovely, amazing cousin Tafline of Tafline Hoey Photography.  Tafline and I have a mutual love of photography…  I always love getting together with her over coffee – shooting a wedding together was even more fun!  You can check out some of her shots from the day here.  Tafline, I hope we can do it again soon!p.s please give the slideshow a good few minutes to load and play… it appears to be a bit slow in getting started!!

Brisbane Wedding Photographer | George & Crystal {the story} » Samara Hook | Photographer - […] It’s taken me awhile to get to this post … but you may have seen the slideshow I did of their day here. […]

Sydney Photographer | styled shoot {behind the scenes}

You might remember a little while ago I did a “styled wedding” shoot to display some amazing floristry work…

I went around early while Lauren was preparing and arranging the flowers and got to spend some time watching her work.  I love seeing talent in action! I loved seeing how Lauren would pick up some flowers and work so quickly to make a lovely posey come together … every time I have tried to arrange flowers I have been given they always end up looking terrible – so now I just leave them as they were!

Hope you enjoy these…

Sydney Photographer | styled florist shoot {Wedding florals}

First off I should say – this is not a wedding.  Although, to be honest, with such beautiful flowers and setting… I wish it was mine! This was actually a shoot for a lovely lady named Lauren…  Lauren does amazing things with just about anything she puts her hand to, and in the following photos you can see her incredible floral creations! The sweet thing is, Lauren’s Bride and Groom were actually married just a few years ago, and the bridesmaid and groomsman will be soon!  How sweet is that?!… Enjoy her floral goodness…
